Gonchor has provided various aspects of planning, architecture, and interior design to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for more than
15 years. Projects have ranged from additions and renovations to new replacement facilities. Major projects include:
- The new 36-bed Neonatal Special Care Unit, a treatment facility for seriously ill newborns designed by using contemporary planning concepts and technology. This facility is a Regional Perinatal Center, replacing Newark Beth Israel's 13-year old obsolete unit.
- The new 24-bed Coronary Care Unit, located on
the newly added eighth floor, provides services
for medical coronary intensive care and coronary
arrhythmia intermediate care with dedicated
medical facilities and nursing support. This units
is in addition to the existing 24-bed unit located
on the sixth floor.
- The renovation of three nursing floors,
Emergency Care, the Women's Health Center,
the Geriatric Day Care Center and associated
areas.
- The expansion of the Surgical Suite, Cardiac
Catheterization, Ambulatory Care, Intensive care,
and parking.
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a 545-bed teaching and research hospital associated with the Univeristy of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
